Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Muskrat Haven

A Sunday afternoon walk was in order today, after church , of course.
The farmer had harvested his field of canola and has started to harrow the edge.
The pond was empty of birds. The only thing swimming was this cute little muskrat.

He was not camera shy and proceeded to pose, keeping an eye on Brooklyn

He definitely has a rope like tail!

Then of course, there is Brooklyn. The water is getting cold as experienced by flying water, but not too cold yet to keep her out of the water.

  1. Brooklyn sure looks like she's enjoying herself. I've never seen canola grown...is it a grain? This farm girl knows all about corn, beans, alfalfa and a few small grains but I need you to educate me on this one! :)

  2. That's quite the tail! They are funny little creatures - I haven't seen very many in 'real' life.

  3. Cute muskrat (until you see the tail) and good girl Brooklyn - not long before it will be too cold to swim.
