Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Adapting to a New Way of Life

It's hard to go by a window without looking out to see how the horses are doing! After 10 years it got to be a habit.

Boots still runs around the fields 2 or 3 times a day looking for the horses, but has adapted to retirement rather well.

He is far more sociable with people and spends more time sleeping. He is now 10 years old, roughly.

The hay is moving out, and I am not allowed to help, due to my back. :-{

 55 Bales on the truck is pretty good for a Dodge. I told him if he broke down on the way home, my Ford would tow him home. :-}
I am getting down to listing the stuff I don't need any more on Whitecourt Buy and Sell.

It gets a little easier each day to look around and realize Life on An Acreage is winding down.

  1. That's sad! Moving is always rather distressing. You have some beautiful saddles!

  7. Hi Ian!
    Read your last posts...it must be very hard to leave that Lovely Place you live at. Get rid of your Lovely fourlegged friends too...but if its necessary you have to.

  8. We all have to wind down at some time. BUT, saying that.... its hard to give up working. I know you will find something else to do. I am going to get myself one of these for my back, I have heard they are very good.
