Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

August 30, 2013

The nest hatched out 3 chicks this year. They are still hanging around, but are nearing the size of their parents

A few missing feathers will soon be filled in.
Fishing is pretty good in the stocked pond in the center of town.
Finally, they co-operated in a fly past or two.

The youngsters are taking on the challenge of landing in difficult places.
Pretty soon they will be heading south.

Nice captures of the Osprey! We have them here - over at Fort Peck lake mainly.

Cool shots, Ian! There are a lot of Osprey nests around here too. I love watch the juveniles grow.

Lucky you to see this! Why do I always think it so funny when I see them fly by with a fish in their talons? Once I saw one with a big flatfish - call me weird, but it made me laugh! Beautiful birds!

We saw three osprey nests up in eastern Arizona, near lakes. One nest had 1 baby and we couldn't tell from the other two nests...Watched an osprey hunt for fish one afternoon in one of the lakes. They are beautiful birds.
