I had five of these dudes on the lilac bush today
Almost the perfect shot, but alas, I missed the focus slightly.
Buttercups are pretty in moderation, but does anybody know how to get rid of a field full of them? The horses won't eat them and they are starting to choke out the grass.
The north facing lilac was full of activity. Lots of hummingbird moths and tiger swallowtails.
I've got to go and batten down the hatches. It feels like a big storm is brewing.
well, the thing that kills our buttercups in the back pasture is DROUGHT! kills 'em quicker than anything! :) but sounds like you're not having any of that!
ReplyDeletetime to make that house trade, ian. it was 103 here today...
Wish my lilacs were still blooming! I've never seen one of those hummingbird moths!
ReplyDeleteLove the Hummingbird Moths and any of the butterflies., especially on those delicate Buttercups. I don't have a clue as to how to get rid of them other than maybe Weed-Be-Gone but it would take a lot to rid a field of them. At least it leaves the grass for the horses.

I need a storm here too! Temps will be near 100 this week. Don't know how to get rid of those butter cups....
