Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Bits and Pieces

I got a little riding in before the snow came in again. It was slippery, so I stayed on the property. This is a photo of me taking a photo of the two gals that were supposed to stay behind. All three horses seem to be enjoying the exercise and attention of tacking them up and of course, the horse treats that go with it.

We had two of the grand kids for Saturday. A long walk took the energy out of them, particularly the little guy.

The snow is starting to go, but then we get dumped on again, and again, and again..... It is encouraging to see bare road and mud once again. Did I just say that I enjoyed mud? The old age memory loss must have kicked in.It's hard to believe from the pictures, but water is actually flowing off of the fields. The surface snow is freezing during the night, but there is still enough snow to act as insulation for the water under it.
The wee nipper had to walk the whole length of the road on top of the snow bank I wished I still had all that energy! The forecast for the next 10 days is great, with highs of +8C to +12C. Enjoy the snow, it will soon be gone. I hope!

  1. Ahh...to have that much energy would be nice! I guess down here we'll have to be satisfied to look at your snow pictures! It's been in the high 70's this week...I don't miss the work that snow would have brought us, but it sure makes things look pretty!

  4. I can't believe you got snow again. I know it is normal for this time of year but it seems the rest of the continent is in a warm spell. Oh well, the water will do you good.
