Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Happy March...Oops!

Oops, it's only January 9! Here we are once again at +10C (50F) and the water is running off the fields, the trees are budding, and the grass is showing! Talk about a mixed up climate! The "normal" high for this date  is -7C ( 20F).

For a link that offers a good explanation as to what is going on  with the North American weather, drop into Global Disaster Watch. She offers some really neat stuff.

The fields are really slippery and the horses are not moving around much. Mind, you, they are a lazy bunch to start with, eat drink, and sleep, repeat.

  7. Alica has left a new comment on your post "Happy March...Oops!":

We're having the same warm trends here..it sure makes our outside work more pleasant. It's interesting...so far the only make up day the kids have (at school) is for a "rain" day, (from tropical storm Lee back in Sept), not a snow day!

  8. Same here, it's nuts. I think it's time to start tapping the trees and we are not even close to being ready. That time of rest hasn't come - the weather is too good to sit inside and work indoors, we've been building, working, even getting sun showers! I'm not yet sure what to think.
