Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Old enough to be eccentric, but not rich enough

Good news!

Free Retro Clipart Picture of a Smiley Face. Click Here to Get Free Images at Clipart Guide.comWell, my steed is back at home sounding like its normal self. Apparently it is not uncommon for the 5.4L engine in the Ford F-150 to blow spark plugs! My Doctor alias mechanic got me back on the road with a helicoil for the plug, a new coil for the plug and a new exhaust gas sensor. He was very reasonable compared to the dealer, approximately half price at just shy of $800.00. I can't really complain as the only service that I have put into it was brake shoes and a serpentine belt over the last 4 years. Oh, yeah, and 3 new tires. All in all, it is a good truck with the 7700 frame and can haul 35 bales (square) without even working hard. My son was good enough to loan me his truck for a few days while it was down.

All in all, a good day! Now if I could just stay awake for a bit. The first day off the job I slept 15 hours straight and the second day, 12. Hopefully, the old body will get back to normal shortly. There is lots of work backlogged on the acreage.

1. Finish the grandkids playset
2. Build my chicken coop extension
3.Dig the garden
4. Clean out the raspberry canes
5. Clean out the bird nests
6.Move last years composted manure pile
7. Move last winters manure pile

Wow, I think I'd better take a nap!

  2. Good news on the old steed! Glad she is running again. Sounds like that to do list is bigger than it should be allowed to be.

Sounds like you will knock it down. However, sounds like you'll get started right after the nap.

  4. Wow, that made me tired just reading. Glad your "steed" is fixed and well. Say, what are raspberry canes? Do take care of yourself. Rest a bit.

  7. Just reading the list makes me tired!
My hubby calls it Honey Do's. The first time he said this in a Hardware Store, he had me perplexed?? What was a Honeydew (fruit) doing in a Hardware Store? Well, now I know what it means, but the 'Southern' accent also had me stumped LOL.
God Bless and be with you.
