The Solitary Sandpiper


I was having a rest beside a pond when this fellow landed in front of me. I had some trouble establishing whether it was a Lesser Yellow Leg or Solitary Sandpiper. The white ring around the eye established it as a Solitary Sandpiper in mating plumage.
