Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Blue Jays

Most of the birds have migrated by now, except for the odd flock of geese that are going over a mile high. That puts me back to the feeder for bird shots.

I have been inundated with Blue Jays. They seem to like my feeder (and food).

Now and again you see one having a "bad Hair Day"

They are not my favourite bird, but I enjoy the colours. They tend to be bullies.

There were actually seven present today. Word gets around!

  1. I think they are pretty and really like their coloring. But I have seen them be bullies, too.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Haha - love the bad hair day! I love these close ups. I like blue jays - I think I'm taken in by their beautiful color. I try to give them their own area because they're so much bigger than my little song birds - and I hear they can be bullies, but haven't seen it for myself.

  5. They are the thugs of the bird world - The Sopranos. One year they all but took over my feeders, only the most persistent little bunch of chickadees came back no matter how many times they were run off & battered.
But, OH, Bluejays are so pretty!
