Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Old enough to be eccentric, but not rich enough

Today was a really sad day! Brooklyn after being with us for 10 years was put down. She was in the kennels with Daphne for about 9 days, and came home with an aggressive attitude. Elaine was bitten on the hand, rather seriously and Daphne was chewed on in the kennels. I think it was due to stress, but who can say. The long and short of it, we have people and kids over at times, and can't risk an occurrence. The Vet and Public Health person were in agreement. and so, she left us today.

I took her for a long walk before and she was happy. A good dog, but now gone. It was really a tough day!

  1. Aw, I'm so sorry to read this, Ian. It's such a difficult decision. I just had my Fiona put down, as well. Big hugs to you and Elaine.

  3. Oh, I'm so sorry! That's very unusual behavior for a Golden Retriever to be aggressive towards people. What a terrible ordeal and yes, very difficult decision. :(
