Today was a really sad day! Brooklyn after being with us for 10 years was put down. She was in the kennels with Daphne for about 9 days, and came home with an aggressive attitude. Elaine was bitten on the hand, rather seriously and Daphne was chewed on in the kennels. I think it was due to stress, but who can say. The long and short of it, we have people and kids over at times, and can't risk an occurrence. The Vet and Public Health person were in agreement. and so, she left us today.
I took her for a long walk before and she was happy. A good dog, but now gone. It was really a tough day!

Aw, I'm so sorry to read this, Ian. It's such a difficult decision. I just had my Fiona put down, as well. Big hugs to you and Elaine.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Ian. I'm sure it was such a hard decision, and so sad.
ReplyDeleteSo sad....
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry! That's very unusual behavior for a Golden Retriever to be aggressive towards people. What a terrible ordeal and yes, very difficult decision. :(
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry to hear this.
