Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

The Geese Have Come....

It was another fine day, sunny and warm and a great day to take the dogs out for a five km walk.

The walk just happened to take us by the farmer's field and I just happened to have my camera along.
The night froze hard and the walking was firm and not muddy. The geese must be getting used to us. They were not disturbed by us at all.
They kept coming into the field flight after flight.
The footing was a little slippery for the geese, but they seemed to manage OK.

These are all greater Canada geese. I haven't seen any of the other types yet.

We stood and watched them for about half an hour, then the dogs got bored and wanted to move on.

They are starting to squawk and pair up.
Another fine day! Any better and I would have to be twins to enjoy it!

  2. Very nice shots of the geese with their wings outstretched. That goose in the last photo certainly has some character! Looks like he's speaking his mind!

  5. Fantastic captures!!! And in the last photo it looks as if you annoyed the one on the left. I know this because I once annoyed a goose (or gander) and got that same reaction and expression with its tongue. :)
