Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Waiting for Something to Happen

Two dogs standing still in close proximity doesn't last long. One of them will soon pounce the other and then the wrestling is on. The hip is starting to grow hair from the horse bite.

A good roll in the snow is good for any itches. Here it is still in February and the horses are starting to shed. Maybe they know something that we don't?
A good shake and it's time to go stand in the sun again.

See, I told you. Now which one started it?

Then again, sometimes it's just good to sit and pretend that you are a bird on a stick. (Still working at clearing out the paddock)

  3. Ian, I know what you mean about the dogs. My daughter has 3, and they always act like that. Man, that is a LOT of snow!

  4. So cute! My horses 'officially' started their shed yesterday. I had to get out the shedding blade to help them a bit as they were happily rolling in mud and water.

Ian, did you get a new camera? Your last few posts have been smashing! :)

  8. Oh Ian your dogs make me smile big time. And that picture of your grandkiddo just amazing how it looks that he's really sitting on that shovel.

I was feeling sorry for myself this morning going out on a walk with storm and the wind was comming from the east wich over here is a cold russian one. I saw some ice and a bit of snow flakes....but notting compared to what you still have around...so I'll just shut up right now.
Hugs my friend and be well.

  10. Quite the balancing act there :) and I always find the sight of a horse having a good roll very cheerful. Our dog...not so much. For obvious reasons, if your dog has ever come home smelling like something unspeakable.
