Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Old enough to be eccentric, but not rich enough

Bits and Pieces

I took a little walk with the dogs today and turned up a few photo ops.

For a change, a Cedar Wax Wing showed up rather than all the Bohemian Wax Wings

As we were leaving, this fellow showed up. She could sure toss back the sunflower seeds

She was very tame and enjoyed the lunch.

On the way to the dog park via the bush trail, I came across three Mule Deer and a buck. I couldn't get a shot of the buck, but caught a few of the does.

If you look closely, you can see the body and ears on this one. Not ideal hunting terrain!

This doe gave me the old over-the-shoulder eyeball glare.

There were about 10 other dogs at the park. We had a good visit and wore the dogs out completely

Camera at the Ready

While working on the roof, the camera is not far away. I caught this Purple Finch while having a rest. This is a first for me. Somehow these folks have avoided the feeder. Can they ever toss back sunflower seeds!

The American Goldfinch also showed up
He was not as tame as the Purple Finch.
The male and female Tree swallows are standing guard, and also bringing bugs to the nest. It would appear that there are babies around!
Near as I can tell, this is a female Purple Finch. They arrive together and leave together, so I guess that they are a pair.
