It will look better in the spring! On the positive side, I don't have to cut grass for another 5 months!
The man den out back is 24 X 26 feet and will have heat in it soon, I hope. Life is good in town. Satellite TV and internet, and heat.

It's Official!
Elaine and I are now back to being "city folk"!
The move went pretty good considering that move day was -35C (-31F) with a wind chill that took the equivalent temp down to -42C (-43.6F). About 10 guys showed up with 5 half ton trucks and a 27 foot enclosed trailer. We had a human conveyor belt moving boxes from the house to the trucks and then offloading the trucks into the trailer at the bottom of the driveway. There was enough snow that we could not back the trailer up the driveway.
I guess the weirdest part was having a South African doctor that had not seen snow before this winter helping out. He thought he had dressed for -40C or F, but found out that was not the case. When he started to shiver and turn blue, we sent him inside to warm up. The other doctor from S.A. had been through a few winters and did well.
A bunch of ladies from the church came in the day before and painted the whole house before we moved in.
We have managed for three weeks without access to television or internet. That was painful! We are now hooked up and functioning again, and 600 emails are cleared up.
Currently we have over 4 feet of snow on the ground, and the roof has been shoveled off once. Normally, 4 feet is the snow fall for the whole winter. I shudder to think of what it will be like come spring! The snow blower quit today, of course, after another 15 cm of snow. The driveway got shoveled the old fashioned way, by Armstrong method.
Hopefully tomorrow I will start to take a few pictures again and get some posted.
Boots has gone from being an outside dog to a cream puff that likes to take long naps on the beds. He is also totally lovable which I would never have called him before. It was hard to get near him when he was watching the horses.
Brooklyn is adapting well also, and enjoys riding shotgun in her truck.
Elaine is doing real well and is starting to get along for short trips without her walker, and is starting to talk about going back to work half days in the new year.
Things I have learned about moving:
1. -40C is pushing the limits!
2. At Christmas, it is tough impossible to get people to hook up satellite or internet services!
3. There are a lot of good folks in town willing to lend a hand on a Saturday!
4.Having Town water and sewer is a lot easier than well and septic field!
5. Short driveways are good!
