A Rainy Day!
Fortunately, we have had a day of rain. The gardens and even the grass was starting to get very dry. I gave the garden a token drink yesterday, just in case the rain missed us. That is a sure thing to bring it on!
I was down to two jars of raspberry jam from last years crop and still had about 40 pounds of berries in the freezer, so it was time to convert them to something useful. There are now 16 pints of jam in the pantry. I would have kept on going except that I ran out of sugar.
If it rains tomorrow, I will do another 3 or 4 batches. The berry crop is likely to come in while we are on vacation. I suspect that we will allow "free picking" to friends and relations.
