Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Saturday at The River

The Athabasca was getting quite crowded in down town Whitecourt. Most of the small lakes are still frozen so the birds are hanging out along the edge. There were several Bald Eagles around, but I was not able to get photos.
The mallards are back and starting to pair up. I don't understand why their feet don't get cold standing on the ice!
There were lots of European starlings around also hanging about.
The sun on the Common Goldeneye makes the iridescence  really stand out, along with the bright yellow eye.
The Canada Geese are now paired up and the males are on guard keeping the eye on the eagles.

 Cruising the timber's edge.
I know where to go next time for some in-flight shots. I need practice at this part!
