Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Birds of the Day!

The first four pictures are of a Canada Jay digging up food in the snow. They are also known as Camp Robbers.

The next three are of a Blue Jay posing quite well while chowing down

And there are a few of the Red Squirrel that just can't stay away.

And of course, the Chickadee has to say "The End"

Change of Season

It seems that we are in "turn-over" time here in Central Alberta. The snow is almost gone as are the Red polls, Pine Grosbeaks and a few other species. On the better pastures and nesting. The Canada geese are back plus a few elusive owls. I did catch this Whiskey Jack today on a dog walk. I haven't seen one all winter although they do stay over. Looking forward to the river opening up and the coming of our summer residents.
