Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Bits and Pieces

I have seen awkward ways of dining, but this Hairy Woodpecker beats all! Upside down with care! Sure, I could have rotated the pictures, but this is real life.

This Whitetail deer was in a field on my most recent outing. He/she looks kind of lost

There are a lot of fresh cougar tracks in the area that I normally walk the dogs, so I am exploring for a better location.

When i first saw this, I thought "What in Heavens name is that"?

It was just this guy munching away.

Certainly never know what you'll find on a walk. Great pictures.

The woodpeckers are certainly entertaining! Around here, the squirrels and the woodpeckers are always jockeying for position on the suet cake, it seems. Their acrobatics appear to be comical, but I suspect there is more going on there than meets the eye!

The expression you've captured on the deer's face is amazing. To me, it appears to look very vulnerable. (I have this habit of assigning human emotion to animals. . . .)

Your photos are so inspiring. You must have been a photographer for National Geographic, right?
