Magpie Day in the Foothills of Alberta


The top three shots were collected yesterday while on the daily dog walk. These magpies are very common in this area, and are very wary of humans

They are a very pretty bird, but loud, like crows.




Some where in the files, I have pictures of magpies sitting on the horse's back, burying their feet in the thick horse hair to warm them at -30 to -40C

    They look a little bit like small penguins! :) I don't think I've ever seen them around here.

    Amazing!!! Great work.

    I am happy to say my lens died. I didn't know enough to know it was defective. Maybe there will be hope for me and picture taking when it is repaired.
