Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

The Birds Know!

It was such a nice day, the female Tree Swallow was out for a little air, and some preening. With air temperature at +25C, I can only imagine how hot it was inside.

She is very tame and I can walk up to within 6 feet of her without her getting stressed.
She also ignores both dogs even though they will sleep below the nest.

The hot weather has burst the apple blossoms. Hopefully they will take and we get lots of pies!

  4. You take such beautiful photos! I love the swallow! Barn swallows return to our home here in the western part of Texas every year to the same nests. We had a lot of nests and then in 2010, we had to have our home re roofed. The construction knocked down a lot of the nest from the eves. That spring, no swallows and the following year only a couple. But this year we have more. Habitat is so important........even when it is small. Love your post!
