One , or both, of the horses decided they would trash my fence to the lower field last night. They snapped off the gate fence post just below ground level. Of course, I had no 4/5 six foot post to replace it with.
No problem, I thought. I will just go down to the hardware store(s) and get a replacement. They stopped carrying fence posts! I had promised Brooklyn a swim along the way.
So, off to Mayerthorpe and the UFA, about 40 minutes away.
Remembering my promise, we stopped in at Rotary Park in the center of Whitecourt. The pond was dug when Millar Western rebuilt it's sawmill, and the town elected to make a day park out of it.
Brooklyn got her swim.
I had an ulterior motive for doing this, namely, I was hoping this swim would accelerate the shedding process. It worked!
I stopped by to look at the Osprey. There was one, possibly two chicks in the nest, but when mom gave her Kree call, they disappeared. I will have to go back and get some photos.
She definitely did not like us watching her! Then it was back home to pound posts in the 27C (81F) heat.
oh, i love that you spoiled brooklyn! happy, happy dog!
ReplyDeleteTerrific post! I agree, your dog looks pretty happy!
ReplyDeleteare you sure it was a horse and not a moose that wrecked your fence? :)
