Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Last Snowshoe of the Year, I Hope!

The weather is forecast to improve drastically over the next 4 to 5 days, with temperatures coming back up to the +10C range in the daytime and down to about freezing at night. With the sun high in the sky, the white stuff should disappear in a hurry, I hope.
If you take the shoes off and step off the trail you sink about 3 feet. Without the shoes, it would be very tough going.

It looks like the mouse from  Drunken Mouse either sobered up, or has become more focused. He was certainly having no trouble keeping up on top.

This has seemed to be a very long winter, with snow coming early and staying late. Plus we have had a lot of it this year.

  1. LOL over drunken mouse. I'd like to try snowshoeing sometime. It does look fun.

  3. You indeed are lucky (although sick of snow). We had little to none and I think it is going to be a long hot fire filled summer because of it.

  6. We're eager for spring here but need a fairly slow thaw so there won't be too much flooding.

Wonderful little tracks in the snow.

  7. I enjoy snowshoeing - without activities like that, winter would be way too long. But I'm ready to hang them up,for the year. I'm looking forward to getting out the kayaks!

  10. Lots of snow means lots of moisture to grow hay...I like that idea from someone who had a very dry season last summer.

  11. Love the photographs Ian. Here where I live there is still a little rain, but no more snow. God bless.
