Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Anybody Like a Challenge?

This clump of trees has to come down, particularly the ones behind the shed. The big ones are starting to rot up top. The challenge is to miss the chicken run, miss the septic field ( it is only inches below the surface), miss the shed and house.
Here is another view looking along the fall line.
These two big ones need to fall between the shed and the chicken run. Did I mention that they have a slight lean the wrong way? Anybody have 30+ small hard hats for the chickens?
The other object is to miss these gals.
On a lighter note, the bull work clearing out this area is complete! If the temperature rises 5C unexpectedly in Woodlands County this winter, it will be due to the 4 big piles being lit off.
Wish me luck!

  3. Yikes! It's a good thing the chickens are oblivious to the danger. Hope it all comes down safely!

  4. Chicken hard hats, love it! I would have NO idea how to manage that. Hope to see pics of complete success!

  5. Good luck :-)) Unfortunately, I had hoped to get my poultry hard hats to market this fall, but we're having difficulties with the chin strips.

  6. Good luck! You did a leave a very silly image of 30 chickens walking around with tiny little hard hats on, it will be hard to shake now.

I'm pretty confident you'll get this all taken care of safely, you just might be a bit worn out when it's over! Hopefully you don't have any trouble.
