Life On and Off an Acreage

In-sights into moving from an Acreage back to Town, plus a few things I find of interest.

Two things that horses are scared about:

1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

A Little of This...and That

Meet Coco, the feisty miniature poodle. (She is the one attacking a 95 pound Brooklynn). I am dog sitting for a couple of days and these two play almost non stop. Brooklynn is good. She gets down to Coco's level. Also, she doesn't like her ankles nipped by the little ankle biter. Coco also wants a piece of the rooster, but she is learning.

We are a long way from this!Green and not white. Ah, this is something to look forward to. Eventually. Just think, a horse that is not looking like a long haired mammoth, but one that shines! And Clean!

And this! It is still covered in 2 feet of snow. I am curious if my brush cutting, root popping and seeding has made the field any better. One can but hope!

Or do you prefer this? Taken today with difficulty. The snow is too wet for snowshoes and too soft to hold a guy up. It's still over 2 feet deep.

  1. Isn't it funny how the little dogs think they can beat up the big ones? Does she run in the snow, too?

  2. You made my heart jump a bit with the first green photo. Alas, you're still waiting, but it's April now - you've got a little hope! :)

LOVE that sweet Brooklyn, playing with that feisty bit of fluff!

  4. Slushy snow is bad, but not as bad as the follow on week of muddy ground. Looks like you have at least three weeks of slop left.

  5. The anticipation will make the first green thing so much sweeter! Can't wait to see your un-shaggy horse photos in the weeks to come.
