Two things that horses are scared about:
1. Things that move
2. Things that don't move

Owl Day
Well this is a first for me! A Northern Saw- Whet Owl came and perched on a tree while I was out walking the dogs. I went to the bird books 'cause I wasn't sure about Saw-Whet, or Boreal. It turns out that the Boreal Owl has a lighter beak. I even e-mailed my Guru of All Things Wild, my son, in Houston. He confirmed Saw-Whet.
Apparently, it is uncommon to common year round, but this is the first one that I have seen.
This is an immature bird as seen by the white patch between the eyes.
All in all, a very good day out in the wilds of Alberta!
Owls always look so.............................what is the word I am thinking off, I don't the word is not coming to mind so I will just forget it and leave
This is a most handsome bird. I haven't seen an owl in years. You are very blessed.
