Out of the Mist
This little fellow was probably driven away from Mama by a Bull looking to mate. He didn't stick around long, just enough to get one picture off the back deck. From the neck bell, I would say a one year old bull that hasn't developed his antlers.
Never knew about the neck bell. We've had a couple of those big guys hanging around of late as well, and also an elk trying to mate with cattle that has become a local sensation, might have to do a post on that one!

Hi Ian, gosh, I just caught up on (a lot) of your blog! And I finally subscribed via email (duh!). Nice snowfalls you've been having! Loved the snow pics. Congrats on your winter kill. Nothing tastier than venison, mmm. Hopefully you'll get a break in the weather. The last couple days here have been so warm, but it won't last!
Wow a moose,Orion hasn't even seen a squirrel,I'd hate to see what he would do around a moose.I've never seen a moose up close either. It must be something Ian to live in a place with such an abundance of wildlife!
Not just anyone can say they saw a moose in their back yard!!
